Team culture is a topic that many team leads find daunting. They know they need it, but they struggle to build it. One of the first things you might come across when venturing down the road of building a healthy team culture is something called a team charter. While there are many different resources and examples of team charters, most of them end up guiding you to creating some Confluence doc or Miro board and then sharing a link with your team. The charter works for the first couple of weeks, but in the end starts to slowly wither away until it is nothing more than a sad browser history item. Doinfine aims to solve that.
TL;DR
Doinfine is a carefully built application that enables team leads and members to create their team’s charter on a platform where they can actually engage with it. We believe that team charters are extremely important documents and add an immense amount of value to a team’s culture, however, they need to be alive.
Many teams create what they call a “living document”, but this only means that the document is regularly reviewed and updated; at the very least, referred back to often. With Doinfine, your team’s charter becomes truly alive.
Teammates can, not only give the team a logo and a name, but they can set its mission and values. But that sounds pretty boring right, not much more than what you can do on a well designed Miro board. Here is the catch:
With Doinfine, teams can celebrate when someone demonstrates the values of the team with wins, hold teammates accountable to those values with fines and engage in fun team building activities that pay off fines.
Create a team charter
After you have signed up to Doinfine and created your new team, you can easily and quickly create your team’s charter by clicking on the Charter icon to the right of the team’s name. This will navigate you to the team’s charter page, where you can update the team’s name, set the team’s logo, give the team a mission and add some team values.
After you have updated the team’s charter, you will notice the mission and values rendering on the right-hand side of the page when viewing the team. This is to help teammates remember what the team’s mission and values are when sharing something with the team via a new post.
From here on out, teammates can post wins, fines and payments when on Doinfine. Wins let teammates celebrate achievements or show recognition when a teammate demonstrated a team value while fines give teammates a fun way to hold each other accountable and help each other grow towards the common goal of the team’s values. Teammates can then participate and engage in fun team building activities, and posting them on Doinfine will pay off any outstanding fines a teammate might have.
You are in control
As the team lead of the team, you have control over what teammates can do on Doinfine when posting. You can decide what teammates can and cannot post or who is allowed to see the author of the post, or see the post itself. We want to help you build a safe environment for your team to foster a growing team culture.
